Appetizers will be provided. University City students can take the Paoli/Thorndale R5 Regional Rail to Wayne; the pub is within walking distance from the station. President Papadakis will present a special event for students, "Getting That First Job," with civic leader, businessman, educator and visionary Walter D'Alessio. A reception will follow the talk. D'Alessio is vice chairman of NorthMarq Capital and president and CEO of Northmarq's real estate consulting group, NorthMarq Advisors. He has more than 45 years experience in planning, developing and financing major real estate projects in Philadelphia, including 12 years as executive director of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority and 10 years as executive vice president of the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation. D’Alessio has been an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania for more than 20 years and held leadership positions on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards during his distinguished career. His current positions include Brandywine Realty Investment Trust, Exelon Corporation and serving on the Corporate Governance Center Advisory Board for LeBow College of Business. Drexel is participating in WMMR's Preston and Steve's Camp Out For Hunger Food Drive. The school that donates the most will receive a free concert. The food that we collect will be sent to over 600 Delaware Valley agencies that operate food cupboards that help the needy. Donations can be made now through December 10, 2007. Foods and sugar packaged in boxes, ready-to-eat cereal, canned foods and creamy peanut butter are among the suggested items. This meeting took place on March 8th at the GVC campus. The idea was to talk about the MBAA and discuss the MBAA GVC Sub Committee. Basically since the GVC programs are expanding and there is sizable student population we should have a separate group that can arrange events and programs. On Tuesday November 7th, LeBow MBA Association hosted an interactive forum with Dean George P. Tsetsekos, Ph.D., LeBow graduate students had the opportunity to discuss a few issues of interest including: Career issues facing students and how LeBow can help, tapping into LeBow Alumni Network, in addition to many valuable suggestions raised by students that the Dean and the college will give special consideration. The dean expressed deep interest in keeping a continuous dialogue and willingness to receive students' inquiries and suggestions.
